What is a 4-point wheelchair tie-down system?

Is wheelchair securement required by law?

Yes. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that all public transit vehicles equipped to transport wheelchair users must have an approved securement system. What does WC18 compliant mean?

WC18 is the RESNA/ANSI standard that defines performance requirements for wheelchair tie-down and occupant restraint systems (WTORS). Mounting Overview (from the Diestco video)

Choose the clamp style for your chair's armrest pole: square or circular.
Place the clamps around the vertical armrest pole of the chair or scooter. You may need to bend them slightly to fit.
Attach a mounting pole to each pair of clamps with the screw, with the end that has the stopping pin facing down. Tighten with a wrench and socket wrench.
Slide the poles into the mounted parts, one on each side, then attach the two L poles with the larger side on top.
Open the canopy with the inside facing up, insert the silver canopy pole, flip the front of the canopy over the pole, and adjust until the material is taut.
Attach the ends of the silver canopy pole to the L poles and drape the canopy over and down the back.
Tie the elastic ties to the canopy elastic and attach the knot ends to the stopping pins.
